Health testing is the first pillar in our program. We believe only healthy and well tempered dogs should be bred. A simple “well check” from a vet won’t suffice. There is a science behind breeding. We have extensively studied genetics and the AKC and OFA standards of breeding.
This is why we do extensive testing and have high standards in our program. We genetic test all our dogs, take them to specialists to get their Orthopedic Foundation for Animal certifications, and they receive their Pennhip as well. If they don’t pass their testing, they don’t get bred. If they do pass and have a wonderful temperament then they become part of our program. Having a good pedigree is also important to us so that we can evaluate past health in their lines. This can become extremely helpful in determining the success of a program.
